Senior Finance Manager

We are excited to support a leading listed renewable energy business in their search for a Senior Finance Manager to oversee their European operations.

We are looking for a candidate with a robust accounting background, operational expertise, and commercial experience in renewables or similar complex projects. The ideal candidate should be hands-on, capable of building processes, teams, and systems, and delivering reliable financial reports.

This role is pivotal in a growing sector with a significant project pipeline. The successful candidate will be ambitious, and ready to take on broader responsibilities in large-scale projects, including financial and risk management, team building, and stakeholder engagement.

Position Details:

• Salary: £90,000 - £110,000
• Location: London

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead financial interactions with the project management team, clients, lenders, subcontractors, and auditors.
• Manage project financial risks and ensure commercial, operational, and financing issues are accurately reflected in financial reports.
• Track costs, reconcile actuals, and monitor milestone completions and contractual compliance.
• Deliver timely and quality financial reports for projects and internal management accounts.
• Ensure accurate project accounting, liaising with the group financial controller, CFO, and auditors to align project accounting with US GAAP.
• Oversee project cash requirements, forecasts, and FX hedging.
• Coordinate annual budgeting and periodic re-forecasting processes with project teams and finance resources.

Candidate Requirements:

• Financial management experience in renewables, oil and gas, or complex engineering and construction projects.
• Strong technical accounting skills and experience with cost-to-cost project accounting, revenue recognition, and subcontract management.
• Proficiency in project-related systems, ideally with Netsuite, Dynamics, or similar ERP implementations.
