About the Role
We are working with a rapidly growing insurance group that is on an ambitious trajectory to reach £1bn in revenue next year. This is an urgent interim opportunity, to support a business that is scaling quickly and is backed by a leading Private Equity fund. The company is looking to build a best-in-class Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) function to support its continued growth, and they are seeking an experienced Interim FP&A Consultant to lead this transformation.
As the Interim FP&A Consultant, you will be responsible for driving the FP&A function's transformation, establishing best practices, and ensuring the finance function can effectively support the company's ambitious growth targets. You will work closely with senior executives, providing strategic financial insight and developing high-level financial planning processes that align with the company's growth objectives. This role requires someone with deep insurance industry experience, a track record of delivering FP&A transformations and delivery full FP&A process and controls. You must have experience of, and the ability to, engage with senior stakeholders at board level.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and implementation of a best-in-class FP&A function that supports the company's ambitious revenue growth targets of £1bn next year.
- Drive the creation and refinement of financial forecasting, budgeting, and long-term planning processes to support strategic decision-making.
- Partner closely with senior executives and board members to deliver actionable financial insights that inform business strategy and growth plans.
- Establish key financial performance metrics and reporting frameworks to ensure the business is tracking toward its growth objectives.
- Build and enhance FP&A tools, processes, and systems to improve financial visibility, forecasting accuracy, and scenario planning.
- Work with senior finance and operational leaders to integrate FP&A insights into business operations, identifying opportunities for cost efficiencies and improved profitability.
- Drive the development of financial models and reporting templates to ensure consistent and reliable financial data across the business.
- Support and mentor internal finance teams in adopting new FP&A processes and driving a culture of financial accountability.
- Provide guidance on managing and leveraging financial data to improve decision-making and business performance at all levels of the organisation.
Key Requirements:
- Extensive FP&A experience within the insurance sector, with a deep understanding of the industry’s financial drivers and challenges.
- Proven track record of FP&A function creation and transformation, driving change to establish a robust and scalable FP&A framework.
- Significant experience working with senior stakeholders at the executive board level, providing strategic financial insights and influencing key business decisions.
- Strong exposure to working in Private Equity-backed businesses, with an understanding of the unique dynamics and growth pressures in these environments.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
- Strong project management and change management experience, with the ability to implement new processes, tools, and systems under tight timelines.
- Advanced Excel and financial modelling skills, with experience in FP&A systems and reporting tools.
- A results-driven, hands-on approach with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
