Senior Technical Accountant

Are you a technically strong accountant with a passion for financial reporting and a knack for translating complex standards into clear, actionable guidance? HedgerWay are working with a high-growth, private equity–backed insurance business on the hunt for a Senior Technical Accountant to take ownership of some big-impact projects.

What you’ll be doing:

Leading the development of a comprehensive technical accounting manual, focused on financial reporting requirements across the group.

Managing the transition from UK GAAP to IFRS, ensuring consistency and compliance throughout.

Owning the interpretation and documentation of IFRS standards, assessing impact across the group and updating policies accordingly.

Acting as the go-to for all things technical accounting, supporting internal teams and liaising with auditors as needed.

Supporting special projects related to M&A activity, restructuring, or regulatory reporting.

What you’ll need:

ACA / ACCA qualification – must be fully qualified.

Solid audit background, ideally from a Big 4 or top-tier firm.

Prior experience in or with the insurance sector – essential.

Hands-on experience working with or interpreting IFRS standards.

Excellent technical writing and documentation skills.

Strong communication and project management skills.

Salary: £80,000 - £100,000 + Benefits
