About the Role

Leading London-based Asset Management firm is looking for a recently qualified ACA or ACCA (or equivalent) professional to join its Finance team as a Financial Accountant.

Reporting to the EMEA Regional Controller in the Global Accounting team of 14. 

The successful individual will be responsible for accounting duties related to the monthly close for the company's legal entities, as well as internal and external financial reporting requirements and financial analysis. The ideal candidate will be willing to learn quickly to make an impact and take on increasing responsibilities within the group. Working closely with all members of the Global Accounting team across EMEA, the US and APAC is an important part of this role.

RESPONSIBILITIES

The key responsibilities of this position will include:

  • Journal entry preparation, account reconciliation, and internal reporting for the company's legal entities across multiple jurisdictions
  • Analysis of monthly financial results and related reporting to management
  • Preparation of filings and surveys for regulatory agencies
  • Preparation of various financial statements across jurisdictions
  • External audit support including audit work papers and responding to auditor inquiries
  • Identifying operational efficiencies and improvements to systems and processes
  • Ad-hoc analysis and reporting

REQUIREMENTS

  • Newly/recently qualified chartered accountant (ACA, ACCA or equivalent)
  • Financial Services sector experience essential (be that from working with FS client in Practice or from working in the Finance team of a FS organisation)
  • Working experience of International Financial Reporting Standards as well as other standards would be beneficial
  • Analytical aptitude with strong attention to detail
  • Strong excel and system skills preferred, with a keen interest in technology
  • Confident communications skills, interacting and collaborating with all levels of counterparties both internal and external to the company
  • Motivation, enthusiasm and initiative are highly valued attributes

  • Strong people skills and the ability to build trust and good working relationships is essential

This is a hybrid role with candidates required to be office based 3 days a week
