Tax Manager - Investment Bank - London

Reporting into the Head of Tax, you will sit in a small team and will be involved in a broad range of taxes including Corporate & International Tax and general M&A, deals structuring advisory projects. 

Responsibilities:

• Managing broad tax matters; including review of corporate tax compliance computations and corporate tax returns, new and existing tax projects, and monitoring the impact of new tax legislation.
• Liaising with UK and overseas advisors across EMEA, US and APAC and Finance team colleagues to ensure timely international tax compliance.
• Reviewing corporation tax payment on account instalment calculations.
• Preparation of current and deferred tax provisions.
• Supporting the UK and European input in to the US and global consolidation tax provision process.
• Managing corporate tax compliance with local transfer pricing requirements, as well as global documentation for these countries (to be OECD BEPS compliant).
• Supporting wider Tax and Finance team colleagues with international withholding tax management and recovery.
• Supporting wider Tax and Finance team colleagues with international projects and initiatives.
• Maintaining relationships with international tax authorities, and ensuring timely and complete responses in relation to any tax authority audits and / or queries.
• Supporting review of tax risks, controls and implementation of process improvements, in order to be SOX compliant.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Exposure to international tax issues.
• Innovative with the ability to develop efficiencies and generally improve processes.

Qualifications:

• ACA/ACCA/CTA qualification
• Knowledge of IFRS and US GAAP.
• Strong analytical, numeracy and literacy skills.
• Experience working with a complex and multinational organisation
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Big 4 or in-house tax experience (FS).
• Ability to look at ‘bigger picture’ tax issues and how they relate to the organisation in real commercial terms.
• Able to plan, prioritise and manage own workload, and work accurately under pressure in order to meet deadlines.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Proficient in the use of Excel, Word and Outlook.
