About Me

Warren began his career as a football apprentice at the mighty Woking FC before turning his attention to developing his career as a specialist recruiter.

Over the past decade, he has developed a proven track record of building long term relationships and delivering senior interim and permanent solutions to a range of commercial sectors across Yorkshire and the North of England. Warren prides himself on his dedication, working at pace whilst maintaining high levels of communication and attention to detail with his candidates and clients.

Warren has 5 years of dedicated finance & accounting experience with HedgerWay; focusing on qualified finance appointments with a particular focus on privately-owned, owner-managed and private equity backed businesses. Warren has completed searches across Yorkshire, the North West and East Midlands mirroring his private equity network to support investments they make across these key regions.

Outside of work Warren has a strong interest in exploring the far reaching corners of Yorkshire with his fiancé and dog, international travel, food and wine.

Insurance | Finance Business Partner, West Yorkshire

  • Brief: A market-leading insurance giant required urgent interim support for a turnaround project to develop a whole new costing process of the group's largest divisional cost base.
  • Successful profile: A commercial finance specialist with exceptional stakeholder management skills, who can be parachuted into a project (already at full-capacity) and deliver results immediately. Adding value through cost expertise, reviewing and creating new models for the division while also remaining comfortable looking after day-to-day management accounting processes.

Design, Manufacture & Distributor – specialist products | Financial Controller, East Midlands

  • Brief: Private Equity owned, market-leader of specialist products company required a Financial Controller to help underpin the CFO's work in their first year of the role. Developing the team, statutory processes and assisting next stages of international growth. 
  • Successful profile: An experienced FC who swiftly grasps the importance of settling the team and building relationships quickly with UK-based and international team members, before making a series of small changes to develop a larger, structural change to the finance department. A statutory expert who understands the importance of strong control of the balance sheet and cash management, allowing the CFO to develop strategies for the next growth phase.

Engineering & Infrastructure Consultancy | Group Financial Accountant, Leeds

  • Brief: A global Engineering & Infrastructure consultancy group, backed by a blue-chip Real Estate investment manager, needed to add experience to its group finance team to aid growth and ensure they are well-placed to support operations.
  • Successful profile: A Big 4 trained qualified accountant whose experience includes being an integral part of a best-in-class financial reporting and controls function for an international business. Ideally, a second move out of practice for an ambitious, technically-minded accountant.
