About the Role
We are partnering with a growing, dynamic insurance group that has recently been carved out by a leading Private Equity fund. This is an exciting opportunity to join a rapidly expanding business at a pivotal time, as they look to develop their finance function in preparation for substantial growth—targeting £1bn+ in revenue next year. The business is undergoing a finance transformation and is seeking an Interim Finance Transformation Consultant to support the creation of robust finance processes, controls, and people management structures that will underpin this ambitious growth trajectory.
As the Interim Finance Transformation Consultant, you will play a key role in designing and implementing finance processes, systems, and controls across the business. You will work closely with senior leadership and finance teams to ensure the finance function is fit for purpose as the organisation gears up for substantial growth. The role will involve setting up new financial processes, embedding robust controls, and supporting the finance team in adapting to new structures that align with the company's strategic goals. You will also be key in helping develop people management strategies to build a high-performing finance function.
- Design and implement new finance processes, controls, and reporting structures to support the business’s growth, with a focus on scalability and compliance.
- Work closely with CFO and wider exec board to develop finance operations, enhance financial visibility, and ensure the finance function can support the business's expansion to £1bn in revenue next year.
- Lead the development and implementation of a robust financial control framework to ensure accurate reporting and mitigate risk as the company grows.
- Provide expert guidance on finance systems, tools, and technologies to improve efficiency and enable timely, data-driven decision-making.
- Support the development of the finance team, focusing on performance, structure, and talent management to create a high-performing and future-fit department.
- Review and strengthen existing balance sheet and ledger processes, ensuring they are aligned with the company’s strategic objectives and geared for scalability.
- Provide hands-on support to finance colleagues, coaching and mentoring the team to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Finance Transformation Consultant, ideally within insurance or financial services.
- Demonstrable success in leading finance transformations, including setting up processes, controls, and systems in growing organisations.
- Deep understanding of financial control frameworks, accounting principles, and reporting structures.
- Experience working with private equity-backed businesses or in high-growth, change-oriented environments.
- Strong people management experience, with a focus on building and developing finance teams.
- In-depth knowledge of finance systems and technologies that support efficiency, scalability, and compliance.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with senior stakeholders and finance teams.
- Ability to thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments and manage competing priorities.
- Strong project management and change management skills.
